The addition of some contract grown fruit made some modest growth possible. More recently, the winery was expanded in time for the 2001 Vintage to cope with an increase in production due to the Company's newly established Kaituna Vineyard on the north bank of the Wairau River. Included in this expansion was a specialist red wine handling facility, primarily for Pinot Noir.Currently, Framingham's core range focuses on the aromatic white varietals Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling (in several styles), Pinot Gris and Gewrztraminer. These wines are complimented by Pinot Noir, a small quantity of Chardonnay and a Merlot/Malbec blend. Occasionally wines of special interest are released through the cellar door. The company currently employs twelve staff members in administration, sales, viticulture and winemaking. Visitors are welcome to taste the wines at the cellar door all year round.
