His strong conviction for justice saw Mazuran become one of the most successful lobbyists in New Zealand politics and in 1971 he was awarded the OBE for his services to the wine industry. The winery has passed to Rado Hladilo who has preserved the sherry and port producing tradition his father in-law started. The range of wines have barely changed in the past twenty years and the small cellar door built in the 1940's is a testament to the passion and tradition of the winery. Historic photographs, accolades and barrels celebrate each of the vintages and limited quantities are available of special releases dating back to 1942! In recent years the vineyard has matured to planting exclusive pockets of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Muscat.
